As someone who was born and brought up in north Belfast, I know what a special place it is. Many famous artists, such as Luke, Lavery, Conor, MacNeice and, more recently, Stephen Rea, Kenneth Branagh and the author Brian Moore were born in the area. I have lived and worked here most of my life and for the last 16 years have headed up Ashton Community Trust — a regeneration charity working in north Belfast
