Researchers, scholars, practitioners, and members of the Belfast community came together for a postgraduate symposium on Occupation, Transitional Justice and Gender on Friday, 8 May 2015 at the Belfast campus of Ulster University. Bridge of Hope and past participants of our Grassroots Transitional Justice Programme from Falls and Shankill Women’s Centres took part in a panel discussion that was chaired by Eilish Rooney from TJI. The Transitional Justice Grassroots Programme has been developed by Bridge of Hope in partnership with TJI over recent years and has been delivered in hard hit conflict areas of Belfast like Mount Vernon, New Lodge, Tigers Bay, Falls and Shankill. The grassroots programme draws on a Toolkit, Report, and User’s Guide that have been written by Eilish Rooney. A trainer’s manual and training for trainer’s programme are forthcoming.
